WELCOME TO NORMA’S COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY PRACTICE
Today, you have taken a step in your journey towards growth and well-being
Norma’s background is integrative, meaning she has been trained in a number of theoretical approaches, largely drawing upon person centered, psycho-dynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She also works with mindfulness based approaches, including mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR).
Counselling can address various issues, such as bereavement, debt and relationship break down, to name but a few. These issues can be overwhelming and challenging at times and could become too much to deal with alone. Counselling gives you the opportunity to receive support and explore your problems in depth, working towards gaining insight. It also looks at understanding how we manage problems and distressing states of mind, for example anger, fear, or hopelessness, and its impact on ourselves and relationships with others.
My main focus will be to help you gain knowledge to resolve the issues life is presenting you, in a safe non-judgemental and confidential space. The therapeutic work is to create an opportunity to challenge your thought processes, through talk and reflection. This will enable you to change patterns of behavior and attitudes, positively enriching your quality of life.
If you feel that life is becoming too difficult to manage on your own, you are in the right place .
